Swans are back again

Looks like same swans have returned again. River is still frozen and there are still lot of snow. There is anyway already two small areas free of ice and swans are there again. This place is only few meters from the place where swans have had a nest already many years.

Windmills, Train Bridge and Swans

Today was beautiful sunny day and about temperature was about -5C here in Tornio. I was walking by the river, when I heard there are flying swans towards me.

Flock of Swans on river in Tornio

This time of the year birds fly from North Europe to south. Also swans. I took this photo few days ago, when there was big flock of swans on the river.

Haparanda and Old Water Tower

Here in this photo is old water tower in Haparanda Sweden and Torne riverside, but I took this photo from other side of the border from Tornio Finland. There are also lot of swans in the photo.

Swan with the Babies 2017

I heard that the swan near my home has got two babies, but it's not anymore on the nest. Today evening I decided to search the swans and finally I found them. I took all of these photos below about 10PM, when here are still lot of light.

Mother also hided the babies to long crass for a while. Only mother's head was visible.

Very quickly mother and babies came back to water.

It was easy to see that mother was still very careful and watched around all the time.

Great to see small swans again like last year.

Swans Flying

I was yesterday biking and taking photos, when I saw a flock of swans flying toward south.

Swan with the babies

Here are two photos of the same swan. There is only one day difference in the photos, but something happened during that one day.

Next day the swan was not alone anymore. It was with the small babies.

I went to check the nest also next day, but it was already empty.
