Finland's biggest ice fishing competion was held last weekend here in Tornio. This year there was 13500 tickets available and about all was sold. I visited in the event also last year 2016, so I had to come also this year.

Event started already on Friday evening, when there is evening ice fishing from 18:00 - 20:00. After that there is fireworks at 21:00. Check my last post.

Real big event started on Saturday at 11:00AM. Weather was cloudy, but there was lot of people on the river. Also many snowmobiles.

One big reason why Tornio ice fishing competition is so popular from year to another are the prizes in the event. Everybody who buy the ticket for the event automatically participates to the draw, where is available 5 new cars. This year the cars were Kia Rio. Many people buy the ticket even they don't fishing at all. If you participate for the ice fishing competition, then you can win also ATV, scooter, TVs, laptops, etc. So real good prizes.

Flowers and Shadow

I ended up to take this kind of photo accidentally. When taking photo and using the flash in the camera the shadow is always behind the object. My wife took few photos about these flowers and I gave her some extra light from the side and saw big shadow.

Then I played with the light a bit more. In this photo I had a light on table and it's upward to flowers making huge visible shadow above the flowers. Then I took the photo normally on the front of the flowers without flash, so the shadow is in the "wrong" place.

The light-shadow combination is quite interesting or what do you think?
